DIRECTOR - FMCA CTA
Having trained at Harrods and Shell UK, Simon setup his practice in 1998. During his career he has had experience raising and spending money during the heady days of the Dot Com boom, working with voluntary organisations in Australia, and running his own businesses in Construction, Development, Estate Management, and Hospitality.
Simon brings this breadth of experience to the many clients, and Boards that he advises. Simon currently lives with his family at The Lighthouse, and takes an active interest in a local Charity as well as the Frome Chamber of Commerce.
DIRECTOR - ACCA ATT
Amy initially trained with Simon back in 1998 before running her own bookkeeping business for 3 years providing business support, SAGE expertise, management and year end accounts. She has worked in practice for over 10 years and is now both a Chartered Accountant and Tax Technician, concentrating her efforts on year end accounts, tax advice and troubleshooting.
Most importantly Amy is a people person and the relationships she has with the clients and staff is enviable. In her spare time she is enjoying growing her family along with some gentle gardening.
CONSULTANT - CTA
Brett has been in general practice for the last 25 years and prior to that worked for the Police and the Inland Revenue. During that time he has amassed considerable experience assisting clients in running their business.
Primarily with a Tax background, he deals with all aspects of corporation and personal tax and assists clients with tax planning throughout, including Inheritance Tax, VAT and Capital Gains Tax. Tax Investigations is one of his favourite areas where he has built quite a reputation over the years.
ACCOUNTANT - MAAT
Claire joined the firm in February 2015 and had 12 years experience working as a Management Accountant. Her previous assignment has been working for 6 years with a £150m local group of businesses.
She is now responsible for the production of accounts for individuals, partnerships and small businesses and she brings a wealth of experience and understanding to the smaller businesses that we support.
Her other great love is quite naturally her family and young children.
OFFICE MANAGER - FROME
Sandra is our newest recruit, joining the firm in September 2018. She has over 30 years of office administration experience starting from Bird Gardens, Solicitors and HR Departments. Her last 11 years has been with a local Accounting firm dealing with Reception, admin and Company Secretarial duties. She is known as the spreadsheet queen and is incredibly well organised.
She also has a wide variety of hobbies (being a champion Card maker and passionate Formula 1 fan) and has a real zest for life.
ACCOUNTANT - MAAT
Claire joined us in Nov 2016 and this is her first time working in practice.
She comes from a background of working in SME's with a particularly good understanding of the Pub industry!
In addition she is an excel ninja and our IT support guru when it comes to nutting out problems in the office or exploring new technologies.
Like many in the business, she is a devoted Mum to her young family as well as having spent 10 years as the school Governor.
Anna joined the Frome Office in November 2019 and is mid way through her AAT exams and on the way to becoming a qualified Accountant.
Anna is an integral part of the Frome Team, offering bookkeeping support to all clients that are in need of the end to end support that the Company offers.
Anna has recently moved to Frome, and is loving the new job, new place and all the exciting changes that are going on in her life.
Claire returned to the team in August 2015, after a break. She has been working in Finance & Payroll for 15 years, first in the Construction Industry and the last 7 years running the payroll for a Care Company in Bath.
She has considerable experience and runs the weekly/monthly payroll, as well as looking after clients Company Secretarial needs. In addition she is the backbone of the Bishop Sutton office, making sure we all know what we are doing and that everything runs smoothly.
OFFICE MANAGER CHEW VALLEY
Clare is our new Senior Accountant, and we are excited to have her join the team in August 2019.
She has a wealth of experience, having started out working for Deloitte's in London, and more recently completing 13 years with her most recent employer managing a wide portfolio of clients.
Her particular strengths fit very closely with our business philosophy of encouraging the working relationship, and focussing on the meaningful information to help you run the business.
